Jeanne Marette is a French artist whose
practice reflects a deeply personal and gestural approach to abstraction.
Working exclusively with Sennelier ink on Saunders Waterford 640gsm paper, she
embraces large-scale formats as a means to explore the dynamic interplay
between gesture, material, and color.
Central to her work are the symbols of
air
and
water
, that she represents with fascination with shades of blue and
light colors —elements that evoke fluidity, transparency, and lightness. Moving
away from figuration, Marette seeks to distill pure movement and energy,
creating compositions that radiate a sense of grace, spirituality, and quiet
strength.
Her use of color, though vibrant, remains
delicately balanced, resulting in works that feel both powerful and serene.
Through this intentional simplification, Marette offers viewers a visual
experience that is at once meditative and uplifting.
