Alberto La Tassa (Padua, 1986) is a figurative artist that lives and works between Venice and Miami.
He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice cum laude and he excels in the representation of human anatomy.
Since 2011 he has been participating in solo and collective exhibitions in Europe, America and Asia. In 2018 he was selected for the prestigious residency program Gyeongiu International Residency Art Festa in Gyeongiu, South Korea, where he had the possibility to improve his skills and to compare his art with that of other excellent artists.
La Tassa’s works are of surrealist inspiration: the plastic anatomy, realized in an absolutely detailed manner, suddenly seems to “melt”, dematerialize, leaving room for colour and for the sensations of amazement of those who are observing the painting. The purpose of his art is to ask questions instead of giving answers, trying to surprise and amaze the observer in a storytelling of bodies, mythology, sometimes animals, and with colour and layers as protagonists.
He also has a parallel production of drawings that serve as preparation for his works and as an instrument to depict life, reach out imagination and exercise his linework.
