Francesco Stefanini was born in 1948 in Pietrasanta (Lucca). He studied at Magistero d’Arte in Florence and attended International graphic arts courses in Urbino.
In 1981 he won the first prize of the Opera Bevilacqua La Masa in Venice and he has been invited for an exhibition at the Ca’ Pesaro Museum of Modern Art. In the nineties he exhibited in Tokyo, Zagreb, Salzburg, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Mannheim, New York, Paris, Beijing, Brisbane, Perth. In the 2000s he worked in Japan for the Museum of Modern Art in Shirakawa and exhibited with subsequent exhibitions in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Yokohama. He was invited to “Oltre il Giardino '', at the 12th Biennale of Architecture in Venice.
Until now, he held more than ninety personal exhibitions and he participated at more than three hundred collective exhibitions .
In 2015 he was asked to create an anthological exhibition in the Church of Sant'Agostino, in his birthplace Pietrasanta. He was invited, in 2018, to hold a personal exhibition in the recently restored Museo Bailo in Treviso.
He now lives and works in Volpago del Montello.
