ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jean-Baptiste Launay , better known as Jisbar , is a Fr ench urban artist born in 1989. His strong and recognizable pop-street style allowed him to spread his art worldwide. He now lives and works between Paris, Amsterdam and Lisbon, and he has been exhibiting since 2008 in prestigious museums and galleries in Venice, Paris, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, London, Lausanne, Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok, Taiwan and Australia. He made some important collaborations with well-known brands such as Armani, BMW, JM Weston, Watch Gshock and others. Being innovative and contemporary, he always launches himself in new projects. As an example, in 2020 he has been the first one in history to launch an artwork into space, a Mona Lisa painting in honour of the 500th anniversary of Leonardo Da Vinci's death, and in 2021 he was the author of the first NFT sent into space, later sold for 20 Ether .  He was invited by the Louvre to be part of the permanent exhibition “La Joconde”, conceived and produced with the Grand Palais Immersif. In 2022, he has been the first to paint a Formula 1 showcar, in honor of Ayrton Senna. The car was exhibited at the Grand Prix of Imola and Montecarlo. He designed special suits and helmets for MotoGP rider Fabio Quartararo and for the race car driver Pipo Derani. He was also the first artist to paint a vehicle that took part to a race: the prototype by the Glickenhaus manufacture that participated in the 100th edition of the 24 Hours du Mans. He is very active in social work and some of his artworks have been auctioned for charity (both in France and in Italy).

His art reflects contemporary society based on consumerism. He uses the most famous icons of art, music, fashion, cinema, cartoons and sport and reinterprets and translates these subjects in his own world. In fact, his paintings can be observed again and again to discover something new every time, including what he defines" moments of life ". These are personal memories that assume new meanings inside the works, and thanks to this transparency the observers can completely immerse and identify themselves in Jisbar's art.
