The exhibition Riparare il Mondo ( Repairing the World ) by Tobia Ravà will inaugurate the new Milan branch of the Sist’Art Gallery at Via Monte di Pietà 1 on April 15.

The display draws inspiration from two complementary exhibitions, both titled Tikkun Olam - Riparare il mondo , held in 2025 in the Veneto region: the anthological exhibition at Palazzo Sarcinelli in Conegliano (TV), curated by Lorena Gava, and the solo exhibition staged at the Barchessa Giustinian Morosini XXV Aprile in Mirano (VE), curated by Maria Luisa Trevisan and Myriam Zerbi.

Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World) is a concept from Jewish culture linked to a fundamental principle: the intrinsic responsibility of human beings to improve the world through acts of justice, peace, beauty, and dialogue. From this perspective, the artistic dimension—which is the ultimate ground for growth and exchange—responds to the great need for dialogue and peace in our time, a need that is more necessary today than ever.

The new Milanese branch of Sist’Art features recent works characterized by the artist's unique and unmistakable stylistic signature: the use of letters and numbers from the Hebrew alphabet. The artist uses them as tiles in a highly personal iconographic horizon, in which the viewer is invited to decipher meanings connected to Jewish mysticism. Following educational paths on the relationship between art, science, philosophy, and mysticism, Tobia Ravà approaches Gematria and the Kabbalah . The former is an alphanumeric system that relates every letter of the Hebrew alphabet to a corresponding numerical value; the latter represents for the artist a reservoir of tradition and ancient wisdom, serving as inspiration for his creative artifacts. This choice, both aesthetic and expressive, allows Ravà to use numbers to relate to reality, suggesting brand-new perceptive perspectives.

Tobia Ravà, one of the most significant figures on the contemporary art scene, was born in Padua in 1959 to a Venetian family and works in Venice and Mirano. In his most recent productions, the use of modern techniques—such as UV catalyzation on aluminum or sublimation on acrylic satin—enhances the visual appeal of the works. His production also spans traditional and experimental languages: graphics, paintings with resins and acrylic temperas on canvas or wood, sculptures in bronze, marble, and ceramics, as well as "aesthetic objects" and environmental installations.
