Il Salumaio is far more than a restaurant; it is a living legacy. Founded in 1957 by the Travaini family , who have passionately managed its vision for three generations, the venue is housed within the magnificence of the historic Palazzo Bagatti Valsecchi . The managers exhibit a visionary approach to the premises, constantly aiming for innovation while respecting tradition. It is precisely this cultural openness that sparked the synergy with Sist’Art Gallery.
This artistic partnership stems from a shared desire to offer the clientele—composed of a cosmopolitan and international public —not only Italian culinary excellence but also high-level aesthetic experiences. The curation by Sist’Art was designed with the ambition of creating a vibrant and unexpected dialogue between the historical luxury of the Palazzo and the most contemporary artistic expression.
The display extends across several key areas, creating surprising settings. The Pop and irreverent creations of Jisbar infuse color and energy into the main dining room, the bar area, and the historic gastronomy section. This provocative spirit merges in a harmonious contrast with the solemnity of the historic architecture, while the iconic subjects represented by the artist help create a familiar atmosphere.
To complete the experience, two private rooms offer dedicated artistic experiences : on one side, the powerful black and white portraits by Elvira offer a note of elegant depth; on the other, the works of Marco Battaglini continue to stimulate reflection with their unique synthesis of classical and modern. A painting by Sala Lieber , on the other hand, dominates the scene behind the bar counter.
