Mint Nguyen is a Canadian contemporary painter of Vietnamese heritage who lives and works between Milan and Montréal. Her artistic output is distinguished by a refined visual exploration centered on the dialogue between color, textured surfaces, and visual perception, featuring a poetic framework that explores the delicate balance of nature and the evocative atmosphere of urban environments.
The artist's pictorial language occupies a unique space at the intersection of abstraction, Impressionism, and a highly personal reinterpretation of Pointillism. Through the patient layering of thousands of individual acrylic dabs, her canvases acquire a rich three-dimensional density and a distinct tactile quality. At the heart of her approach lies the concept of convergence: the ability of fragmented elements to merge in the viewer's eye, forming a harmonious, unified image. This predominantly intuitive creative process—guided by the mood of the moment—allows each piece to reveal itself gradually, transforming private emotions and memories into visible forms.
In her figurative subjects, such as the acclaimed canvases
Roses et Rosée
or
Les Roses Danseuses
, Mint Nguyen captures subtle natural details discovered during daily life—from rain-kissed flowers in Milanese gardens to the chromatic contrast between botanical elements and modern skyscrapers. In her purely abstract works, including
The Entry Out
and
The Divine
, the woven texture of color becomes a vehicle to explore dreams, elegance, and visual dynamism, often referencing world notes of fashion and design.
With an exhibition track record split between North America and Europe, the artist has consolidated her presence in the contemporary art scene with major events such as her solo exhibition The Noise of Serenity in Milan, a project focused on the pursuit of quietude and sensory equilibrium through raw paint matter.
