Maurizio Sapia was born in 1966 in Sanremo. At the age of 21 he moved to Milan where he attended photography courses at the European Design Institute. He started working as a photographer assistant and then became himself a photographer specialized in still life . He now works in the studio he founded in 2001 together with three partners, that is called h2o. He collaborates with the fashion world, such as for magazines and advertising agencies.
His research for a more personal style led him to a digital form which allows the artist to find a proper expression and freedom from the rules of commercial photography . The field of digital environments also produced in the artist a great interest for interactive installations.
He exhibits in and collaborates with the Die Mauer contemporary art gallery in Prato, the EB Gallery in Los Angeles, Galerie STP in Greifswald, Germany and Sist’Art Gallery, Venice.
