ABOUT THE ARTIST

Valeria Corvino is an Italian artist born in 1953 in Naples. Her first approach to the field of art took place through the observation and study of the artistic heritage offered by her city; her first "masters" were therefore elements belonging to Roman sculpture, from the Baroque period, combined with fragments from antiquity . In this way, Valeria Corvino developed a strong interest in the anatomy and beauty of the human body. She continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, where she was formed by a pictorial training to which she applied her passion for photography and the play of light and shadow, reaching a personal style based on harmony. She pursues aesthetic canons that are easily recognizable in each of her works, she bases her paintings on the balance of the composition by combining aspects inherited from the past and others relating to modern aesthetics. Valeria Corvino exhibited and was the protagonist of many events mainly in Italy, for example in Naples, at the Galleria Palazzo Nicolaci in Noto, at the Palazzo Vanalesti in Capri.
