O'REILLY

Patrick O'Reilly

Patrick O’Reilly is a celebrated Irish sculptor whose bold, often whimsical works explore the intersection of memory, myth, and emotion. A graduate of the Belfast School of Art, O’Reilly has spent over two decades exhibiting widely across Ireland and internationally, gaining recognition for a visual language that is at once deeply personal and universally resonant.

Renowned for his monumental bronze sculptures, O’Reilly’s practice blends philosophical reflection with a distinct sense of play and presence. His iconic animal figures—bears, hares, and other creatures—appear in unexpected contexts, embodying human vulnerability, curiosity, and humor. These works have become enduring landmarks in both public and private spaces, from Dublin’s 3Arena and Adare Manor, to Paris, Cape Town, and beyond.

O’Reilly’s art is held in numerous museum and private collections worldwide. A major solo exhibition at the Hugh Lane Gallery (Dublin, 1996) marked a key moment in his career, followed by numerous accolades including the RHA Sculpture Prize. He is represented by leading galleries including The Mayor Gallery (London), Galerie Vallois (Paris), and Friedman Gallery (New York), and has participated in prestigious art fairs such as TEFAF Maastricht, Art Basel, and Art Miami.

Dividing his time between studios in Dublin, Venice, Madrid, and the Auvergne, Patrick O’Reilly continues to shape a poetic and playful vision of contemporary sculpture.
